It's been months since I last posted a song on here, but I just recently heard Andrew Belle's Pieces, and i could not not blog about it. I absolutely love that man, and I am so excited for his new album, Black Bear, to come out tomorrow! Waahoo.
Aaand since I'm feeling very generous, check the link in the bottom to download this song for free. (For people currently in the US only, sorry!)
I've been falling asleep to this song for the past few days, and I honestly think it's one of the most amazing things right now! Anything by The Paper Kites is good, but none of them compare to Bloom. Luckily triple j is giving it out for free, so if you like it, click on the link at the bottom to download it!
The 'Free Download' section of this blog was looking a bit lonely, so I decided to look for some new songs today to fill it up a bit. The first song I found was this one, Merseybeat, by a little Australian man known as GOVS, or just simply Josiah Birrell. I can't believe this doesn't even have 300 views on YouTube; this world is kind of sad sometimes… Anyway, give it a go and download it if you wish to.
The more I listen to it, the more I like it!
It's been a while since I last posted a mashup, so here it goes. This one is called Dance, Love And Die While We're Young, and it's by the one and only Marc Johnce. (Duh!) In case you're wondering, this beauty has 31 artists, and I believe they're all from 2012. If there's one thing I know, you can't go with Marc-fucking-Johnce. DJEarworm who?
Artists featured include: One Direction, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Pixie Lott, Carly Rae Jepsen, Owl City, PSY, Katy Perry, Rihanna, David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, Jason Derulo, Madonna, SIA, Kelly Clarkson, Taio Cruz, Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Flo Rida, Alicia Keys, and more...
Alex Ebert is just damn perfect. (In case his name doesn't sound too familiar, he is the lead singer of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, who also goes by Alexander on his solo work.)
Check out Truth, where he does an incredible job combining both indie and rap, which mind you, is definitely not an easy task to do.
I'm guessing most of you, if not all, already know Vampire Weekend, one of New York's finest bands, but I doubt a lot of you have ever heard this cover of Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere.
Man, I'm pretty sure they can cover any song and it'll still sound amazing.
I don't know about you, but I think Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson's duet album is the best thing on this planet! I know it's been about 3 years, but I just thought I'd bring it back for you all.
The song below is I Don't Know What To Do; probably my favorite one on their album. (Tough call!)
If you haven't heard this cover of LMFAO's Sexy And I Know It by Noah, you are absolutely insane. But luckily for you, I am back blogging, and you finally get to hear it. And not only that, but to top it all off, you get an exclusive download too! Don't miss your chance, the link will expire in no time! You can thank me (and NoiseTrade) later ;)
I do have to say, I absolutely cannot stand the original version of this song, but Noah's cover is completely amazing!!
What a better way to start the month than with some free Nada Surf!
I've absolutely loved this band ever since The O.C. and now NoiseTrade is giving out awhole Nada Surfalbum for free! And it's only for a limited time, so hurry up and take advantage of it.
(The album includes: See These Bones, Looking Through, Concrete Bed,When I was Young, Blonde On Blonde, Fruit Fly, Weightless, and Waiting For Something)
New month, new post!
Sorry it's definitely been a while, but I am officially done with everything, which means I can finally start posting again.
Here's my current favorite song, D-D-Dance by Swedish indie band, The Concept. How awesome is it? And what's even better is that you can download it for free!
To download this song for free click on the 'Download' button on the right side of the box.
Haven't had time to post much, as I have been traveling a lot lately, and won't be home until the 3rd of April.
Moving on, this is a remix of Katy Perry'sPart of Me done by Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe, and it is honestly one of my favorite remixes ever. Soo sick. And the best part of it is that you can download it for free, just by clicking the link below.
Let's hope these two ladies decide to DJ in Tokyo soon, as last year's show was cancelled due to the earthquake.
Just came across a free -and legal- download of The Vaccines' If You Wanna, and I can't believe I hadn't seen it before. But well, better late than never.
Very excited to see one of my favorite bands again later this year at Summer Sonic!
A friend recently posted this song on her Facebook page, and not only did I like the song, but I also thought the video was pretty awesome. Also found a free download for this, which gave me another reason to post it, so here it is. The song's called Chinatown ( Is not Newtown) by Australian band Oceanics.
M83 has been on fire lately, and they have every right for it! Of course most, if not all, their stuff is pretty sweet, but let's face it, none of them will ever beat Midnight City.
I'm hoping you all missed Marc Johnce's mashups, because I definitely did. Push The XXXO Button is actually from almost 2 years ago, but I hadn't heard it before so here it is. It's a mix of M.I.A.'s XXXO and Sugababe's Push The Button, and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it! Make sure to grab this track for free below!
I'm quite bummed that I missed the Neon Indian show in Tokyo a few weeks ago, specially since it was on my birthday! Let's just hope he returns to this place soon. Meanwhile, here's a free download of his song Fallout, which by the way, I personally consider it one of his best songs.
Joshua James' Coal War is available for free for a limited time, so I suggest you download it while you can! The song was also recently featured on an episode of Sons of Anarchy
I just stumbled upon Back Of Your Neck by Howler, and thought it was amazing! Love this guy's voice, can't wait until they come to Tokyo later this month!
