I KNOW SOMEONE WHO COULD SERVE ME LOVE, BUT IT WOULDN'T FILL ME UP

Damien Rice is by far one of my all time favorite singers, undoubtedly because of how talented he is, but mainly because of the connection between most of his songs and a previous relationship I had. There's an incredibly relatable meaning behind most of his songs, and his new one, My Favorite Faded Fantasy is no exception. Can't wait for his new album to come out on November 31.

IF ALL THE STARS ALIGNED WE COULD HAVE SOLVED THE MYSTERY

This song makes me want to cry because if how good it is. My friend showed it to me last week and I've been in love ever since.
Here's Kishi Bashi's Bright Whites. And let's be real, the video is pretty awesome too.

THERE IS A WORLD THAT WAS MEANT FOR OUR EYES TO SEE

Youtube ads are usually an absolute waste of time, but there's always that 1% of them where you get something out of it. Today, I got this song, which ended up being cool enough to be worth a post.
Here's Lord Huron's Ends of The Earth.

DID I MAKE MONEY WAS I PROUD, DID I PLAY MY SONGS TOO LOUD, DID I LEAVE MY LIFE TO CHANCE, DID I MAKE YOU FUCKING DANCE

A kid I met a couple weeks ago played this song called Global Concepts by Robert DeLong and I thought it was worth posting it. If you're into this type of music, give it a try. At times, I would have liked it better without all the techno nonsense to be honest, but then again I like it nonetheless.

INTRODUCING: LEO STANNARD

It's been a hectic couple of months, packing, moving around, wander through new cities, and everything else in between. Hopefully I'll be posting more stuff continuously rather than bimonthly or even longer.
Here's a new British artist I found browsing through the internet— Leo Stannard. He's just released a new song called Why Don't We, but I personally like Lost, the one below, better.

INTRODUCING... MIGHTY OAKS

I had last week off so I spent a couple of days in Brooklyn, and of course, I got to catch some amazing bands! The night before I saw Foster the People and The Mast (which you should definitely check out!) I was introduced to a band from Germany called Mighty Oaks. I had never heard of them before, but I was completely fascinated when I saw them play in front of a small crowd at the Brooklyn Bowl! They have such a great sound; definitely worth giving them a try! Here are their top 2 songs, Brother and Just One Day, and one of the few pictures I took that night.

DOWNLOAD WILD CHILD'S PILLOW TALK ALBUM FOR FREE

I'm pretty sure there must be a Wild Child post in this blog somewhere, because they really are one my all time favorite bands. So the fact that I recently found them on my favorite music website, NoiseTrade, just took me to a whole new level of happiness. I am a fan of downloading things legally, if downloading them at all— truthfully, I'd much rather have a hard copy of an album!
Anyway, here is one of my favorite albums ever, Pillow Talk, and you can download it for Free! I do have to say though, if you're feeling generous and like their music, please please please leave a tip. Artists truly appreciate it when people download their music and spread it around, but let's be real, money IS important, especially for small bands when it comes to putting together a new record and all that. No help is ever too little!

To download this album for FREE click HERE.

Ps. If you like them, check out their new album The Runaround which is out now!

SHAKIRA'S OFFICIAL 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP SONG HAS BEEN RELEASED

Considering I'm going to the World Cup in Brazil, and I am Colombian, having yet another official FIFA World Cup song by Shakira has got me utterly excited. Let me present you the new WC anthem, Dare (La La La), which was just released earlier this week. I wasn't too big on it the first time I heard it, but it is just a matter of time. Props to the greatest Colombian to ever walk on this planet for her huge success!

MILEY CYRUS COVERS THE ARCTIC MONKEYS' WHY'D YOU ONLY CALL ME WHEN YOU'RE HIGH

Let's face it, we all know the new Miley is awesome, and this cover of the Arctic Monkeys' Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High can't get much better! I'm not here to lie, I've heard some close-to-horrible covers by her, but this and Jolene are fucking insane!

I'll also add Jolene here, in case anyone's interested to hear it!

WHEN I AM WITH YOU, THERE'S NO PLACE I'D RATHER BE

Wow I just realized my previous post was my first post in 2014! I've seriously been lacking, but all my college work has kept me incredibly busy!
One of my Facebook friends posted this song on her page yesterday, and I must admit, it is pretty damn good! Super catchy, a great beat, and an awesome voice! Also, the video brings me back some great memories of my 7 years in Japan, so thank you Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne for this lovely tune and video, Rather Be. Summer anthem, anyone?

FOSTER THE PEOPLE AND THE MAST DO BROOKLYN

Last week I went to the Music Hall of Williamsburg for my first official concert in the beautiful state of New York since I moved here. I have to say, though I definitely miss Japan, I absolutely love the way the audience behaves here! (No pushing, surf crowding, etc). I am very glad to say there could not have been a better way to start my new life here in the US, as I got to see the amazing Foster the People, and even better, had the lovely pleasure of being introduced to a new band from Brooklyn, The Mast. They looked and sounded incredibly good, and put on a wonderful show.
Check out the link below to expand and please your earbuds with UpUpUp. Here's my new obsession: The Mast.
