BEST 2013 MASHUP: THE XX AND BASTILLE'S NO ANGELS

After ranting about my love for Cara Delevingne on my previous post, I started playing around with other songs YouTube suggested me, and it eventually lead me to this. Nothing but the greatest mashup of the year — Bastille's version of TLC's No Scrubs and The XX's Angel posted by none other than the amazing Olivier Duterte, aka The Sound You Need.

CARA DELEVINGNE SINGS SUN DON'T SHINE WITH WILL HEARD

As if Victoria's Secret's model Cara Delevingne wasn't fucking perfect enough already, here's yet another reason to lower your self-esteem. In the video below, she joins Will Heard on an acoustic performance of Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine). Cara, stop being so damn perfect, please. :)

AND I'D SING A SONG THAT'D BE JUST OURS, BUT I SANG THEM ALL TO ANOTHER HEART

I'm so glad I got to drive down to Manhattan for Columbus weekend, I was just about to explode from everything up here. A break much needed, and of course, it's not a break without great music!

Heard this song while I was in the city, and of course I had to SoundHound it! Ha.

I'm absolutely in love and obsessed with Tom Odell now! Here's Another Love, which probably has the most amazing lyrics I have heard in a while.

I TURNED MY BACK AND YOU TURNED TO DUST

Everyone that's ever been in love knows that break ups are not fun.
Don't feel like saying much, just posting this song for future references. Been listening to Keaton Henson nonstop since Sunday, I think Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us might be my favorite song by him (or at least the one that's made me shed the most tears, that is).

THE ARCTIC MONKEYS COVER DRAKE'S HOLD ON WE'RE GOING HOME

There's nothing like a nice cover, especially when it's done by such a great band like the Arctic Monkeys. (I apologize, but the fact that Alex Turner, the lead singer, is wearing sunglasses and it is clearly not sunny outside makes me love him a little less) — Regardless of that, here is a cover they recently did of Drake's Hold On, We're Going Home.

AND I AM ONLY AS YOUNG AS THE MINUTE IS FULL OF IT

I still have a couple of drafts on a few shows from the past year, including Ed Sheeran, Jake Bugg, and Mumford and Sons which I have been meaning to post…
But for now, since I am sure everyone's heard of Royals by Lorde, i will post my other favorite song by her — Tennis Court. Damn, she's definitely my favorite 16 year old!

… Unlikely, but just in case there's one or two of you that haven't heard Royals yet… Here it is.

MISERY'S THE MOMENT WHEN I LOST YOU, IT'S PLEASURE IN A COSTUME

It's been months since I last posted a song on here, but I just recently heard Andrew Belle's Pieces, and i could not not blog about it. I absolutely love that man, and I am so excited for his new album, Black Bear, to come out tomorrow! Waahoo.
Aaand since I'm feeling very generous, check the link in the bottom to download this song for free. (For people currently in the US only, sorry!)

CAUSE I JUST WANNA HOLD YOU, BUILD MY WORLD RIGHT AROUND YOU

I swear Alex Clare does the greatest covers, and never ceases to amaze me. Here's him doing Hold Yuh by Gyptian, and I don't think I need to say Alex's version is 39 times better (but I said it anyway…)

OH YOU FILL MY LUNGS WITH SWEETNESS, AND YOU FILL MY HEAD WITH YOU

I've been falling asleep to this song for the past few days, and I honestly think it's one of the most amazing things right now! Anything by The Paper Kites is good, but none of them compare to Bloom. Luckily triple j is giving it out for free, so if you like it, click on the link at the bottom to download it!

HATE TO BE SO EMOTIONAL, I DIDN'T MEAN TO GET PHYSICAL

This one is from a few years ago, but Kings of Leon will just never get old. Pick Up Truck is probably my new favorite song by them, I'm so glad my friend got me into listening to it again.
